How do you feel about yourself? What can you do to be the person you want to be? What makes you happy?
Do you believe that the world is better because you are in it? Do you have confidence in yourself and your abilities? Do you trust your decisions? Do you believe that you are your own best resource? These are the characters of self esteem
So self esteem is a way of measuring and describing how a person thinks and feels about himself/herself. It is a method that attempts to measure a person’s value or self worth. Self esteem is how you feel about yourself. It is your general judgement of yourself. It is how much you like yourself.
You are you. In the entire world, there is no one else exactly like you. Some may have features like you but they cannot add up to be you. Therefore, everything that comes out of you is reliably yours because you alone choose it. You own everything about you. Your body; including everything it does. Your mind; including all its thoughts and ideas. Your eyes; including the images, of all they behold. Your feeling; whatever they may be – anger, joy, frustration, love, disappointment, excitement. Your mouth; all the words come out of it – polite, sweet or rough, correct or incorrect. Your voice; loud or soft, and all your actions whether they be to others or yourself.
You own your fantasies, your dreams, your hopes and your fears. You own all your triumph and successes, all of your failures and mistakes. Because you own all of you, you can become intimately acquainted with you. By doing so you can love yourself and be friendly with you. You can then make it possible to work in your best interests. You know that there are aspects about yourself that puzzles you, and other aspects you don’t know. But as long as you are friendly and loving to yourself, you can courageously and hopefully look for the solutions of the puzzles and ways to find out more about yourself.
However, you look and sound, whatever you say and do, and whatever you think and feel at a given moment in time is yours. This is real and represents where you are at that moment in time. When you review later how you looked and sounded, what you said and what you did and how you thought and how you felt, some parts may turn to be unfit. You can discard that which is unfitting, and keep that which proved fitting, and invent something new for that which you have discarded. You can see, hear, feel, be close to others, to be productive, and to make sense in order out of the world of people and things outside you. Yow own you, and therefore, you can engineer yourself. You are you and you are okay.
