Things have started to get back to normal here in Colombo and the Savoy Cinema has finally opened its gates after being closed for a pretty long time. They've converted the theater to dolby atmos and it's pretty convincing. We finally got to watch Avengers Endgame, the culmination of Hollywood's biggest franchise of the generation.
Avengers Endgame. A movie that fans all around the world should celebrate. Simply put, this movie has everything.1.2 billion USD in the first weekend is not something you take lightly. It's beautiful, emotional and entirely unexpected. All the fan theories we've been building up since Infinity War seems petty compared to what the movie delivers. It not only just lives up to the hype but is a must-watch for Marvel fans, comic book readers, and all movie-goers out there. If you thought Infinity War was huge, get ready to get your minds blown watching this one. It's amazing how every time we think that they've done their best, they still manage to come up with a new story and successfully implement it. It should be appreciated how directors had so much at stake and still pulled this off as successfully as possible. This movie is a treat for comic book fans, as well as those of us who have been following the franchise from beginning.
Although it's Spider-man Far From Home that will put an end to Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Endgame has perfected it. If you have always thought that the MCU was just a bunch of CGI characters blowing up stuff this movie is sure to make you rethink.
But the movie is not great only because its serves as a sequel to the other films. It does justice to the art of movie-making as well. You don't realize three hours passing when you sit down and look up at the big screen to watch it. You'll be immersed in it in the first few minutes itself.
It's really difficult when you have to nitpick on such a movie, but that's a topic for another blog. Watch out for the next Endgame spoiler review. But come back once you've watched the movie. Don't miss it!
Cheers!
